Rhapsody 1

"Do something instead of killing time, because time is killing you."

Hello.

Quite frankly, I am not sure what I am doing right now or what I am hoping to attain with this...so let me explain where the idea for this blog is stemming from.

...

After the somewhat slow(yet rapid)changes that have occurred in the last couple years, my perspective on life in general has changed immensely due to a change in view on a few controversial topics.  Time seems much more precious than ever, and I am eternally more eager to make sure every second is well spent.

People often don't seem to realize the importance of each other--or of time.  I spend eight hours a day or more in a building full of people who hardly recognize each other as fellow humans.  Granted, not everybody can be friends--we are not all 'kindred spirits'--but the zero tolerance most people have for each other is sometimes quite appalling.

Just to clarify, I am most definitely not the smiling type who openly embraces everyone while walking around with an eager grin that says 'I am an easily approachable person who loves everyone'.  On the contrary, I usually walk around with headphones in while making minimal eye contact with anyone who seems to be giving off a negative vibe.  I have very little tolerance for--what I consider--petty fights, overly sexual humor, or any racist or mean remarks about anyone.  Obviously talking poorly about someone is acceptable and natural, but saying fake or just mean things is completely unnecessary.

That being said, I am still quite easily approachable despite the headphones (I've learned this due to the number of people who often rip them out)and I still quite love people despite their sometimes (oftentimes) annoying human attitudes. I have been starting to live by the simple--yet incredibly weighted--idea behind one simple word: namaste.

Namaste
My soul  honors your soul.
I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides.
I honor the light, love, truth, beauty, and peace within you,
because it is also within me.
In sharing these things
we are united, we are the same,
we are one.

This is the motto that we all should learn to live by: I may not agree with you or everything you say or do, but I honor the life in you since it is the same life that is in me.  Disagreements, differences in beliefs(culture, clothes, politics), and economic status can only mean so much when you strip us all down naked--we are all filled with life.

And no matter where you believe that life has come from, there is no denying that it is special and not easily attainable.

There is still no foolproof artificial way to create a human being.  This being said, every one of us walking around on this planet has a priceless gift that we all share in common: life.  The 'light, love, truth, beauty, and peace' within each of us.

Obviously, there are a lot of other things inside of us besides for those five romanticized feelings--we all know this due to the irritation we feel towards other people.  Yet, realizing that we all share the same gift of life in common is hugely important in learning to love everyone for who they are.

I am striving to appreciate the life in everyone--no matter the grievances I may hold to their name.
